Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why choose EverGreene Pet Cremations?

EverGreene Pet Cremations utilizes the nation’s first electric pet cremator. Electric cremation is the most modern advancement in pet aftercare offering a more environmentally responsible alternative to standard gas-fired cremation.

We are professionally led by a veterinarian ensuring a deep understanding of the moment and of the importance in the respectful handling of the pets that touch our lives so deeply.

Locally owned and operated, EverGreene is not a franchise-style cremation company. We are not an extension of the human funeral industry; our center was built from the ground up exclusively for pets. We use superior products, offer fast turnaround and have transparency with a trusted tracking network in Angelpaw.

  • What are your normal business hours?

We currently offering phased hours while we open gradually and intentionally. Our business hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30-3:00 pm; however, we can be contacted 24 hours daily at 800-405-5019. After-hours, weekends and holidays services are by appointment. Thank you for your patience as we prepare for extended availability.

  • What pets do you service?

We offer cremation for dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, small exotic pets, birds and reptiles amongst others. Though we can cremate most pets, there is a weight limit of 220 lbs.

  • Can I track my pet’s cremation process?

Absolutely. We invite our clients to use the Angelpaw online system so you can monitor each step of your pet’s journey to be assured that you will be reunited with your cherished companion with complete transparency.

  • What is electric cremation, and why is it considered more eco-friendly?

Traditional gas-fired cremators burn fossil fuels, typically natural gas or propane, to achieve cremation. Electric cremators are heated entirely by electricity, using steady, measured heat without an open flame. While natural combustion may occur, it happens within a closed, carefully controlled chamber. By not relying on fossil fuels, electric cremation reduces the overall carbon footprint of cremation and releases fewer pollutants in the air. Studies show electric cremation can be up to 80% more efficient than standard cremation. Electric cremation is also a quieter method and considered a more peaceful process by many.

  • Is electric cremation the same as aquamation?

No. Electric cremation is not aquamation, though both methods are deemed more eco-friendly than traditional cremation. Aquamation is alkaline hydrolysis where cremation relies on water, heat and chemicals to complete cremation. Aquamation is generally a longer process than standard or electric cremation, taking up to 20 hours.

  • Will my pet’s ashes be different than traditional cremators?

No, the electric cremator produces similar cremated remains as a traditional gas cremator. What changes is everything around the ashes, not the ashes themselves.

    • Cleaner process
    • Quieter operation
    • Fewer pollutants
    • Lower carbon footprint
    • Less chamber contamination
  • What is the difference between private cremation and individual/partitioned cremation?

Both options ensure that your pet is cremated individually and you will be returned only your pet’s ashes. With private cremation your pet is placed within the cremation chamber alone. With EverGreene’s individual cremation, using a separate door, your pet may be placed along with one other pet into the cremation chamber and separated by a partition.

Our cremator has two unconnected full-height doors, each accessing its own side of the cremation chamber separated by a partition, so there's no intermixing of your pet with the second. The two-door, dual-position chamber makes individual cremation extremely controlled, almost approaching the guarantees of private cremation, though without the environmental impact of running a full chamber for one pet.

We consider our individual cremation an eco-friendly alternative to true private cremation as it can reduce the carbon footprint by as much as half of what it would be with private alone.

  • Can I cremate my precious friend with their belongings?

Yes, with minor stipulations. We usually recommend avoiding large or baby blankets because they can hinder the cremation process; a small ‘symbolic” piece of a blanket is allowed. Some toys are acceptable if they are not made of hard rubber/plastic and do not contain batteries.

  • Can I choose memorial products for my pets?

Yes, we offer a variety of memorial options within EverGreene including specialized urns, paw prints and fur clippings. We have extended offerings through our partners with jewelry, ash-infused glass products and other keepsakes.

  • Do you offer pickup and return services?

Yes, we offer home or veterinary pick-up of your pet at an additional fee. We can return your pet’s ashes to you at no additional cost.

  • How soon will I receive my pet’s cremated remains?

We aim to return cremains within 3-5 business days. Many pets can be returned sooner, depending on location.

  • Do you provide euthanasia on site?

We do not currently offer euthanasia services, but we understand how important this option can be during such a difficult time. To meet the needs of pet parents in the future, we may begin to offer this service as we continue to expand our support for families.
